About John Fagan
John is an Orange Park native who grew up on the First Coast. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1975 and attended college at Florida State University where he completed a four-year program in three years. John graduated from the Florida State University College of Business in 1978 and went straight into Florida State University College of Law. While in law school, John earned a position on the prestigious Law Review Board serving as its Business Editor. As a law student, John studied in the Oxford program. He also interned with the Florida Legislature working on the Florida House of Representatives Criminal Justice Committee.
John was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1981. John began his legal career as a law school intern in the State Attorney’s Office in Orange Park in 1981. After his internship, legendary State Attorney Ed Austin hired John as a full-time Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit (Clay, Duval, and Nassau Counties). As a prosecutor, John tried jury and non-jury trial on charges ranging from DUI to Murder.
In 1983, John moved from the State Attorney’s Office to begin his career in private practice. He has practiced law for 36 years in the First Coast. For the last 25 years, John and his family have made Clay County their home.
John limits his practice to personal injury and disability cases. While there are many fine attorneys in Clay County, John is one of only a few Clay County attorneys who limit their practice to personal injury and disability cases. John takes pride in helping clients resolve injury claims in ways that avoid the stress, uncertainty, and the expense of unnecessary litigation.
Professional Activities: John is the past President of the Clay County Bar Association and served on the Board of the Clay County Bar Association from 2009-2013. He is an active member of the Florida Bar, and the Federal Bar of the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He is also a member of the Florida Association of Justice, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, and the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates.
Service to the Community: John has always been involved in the Clay County Community serving as a member and Director and President of the Rotary Club of Orange Park, & President Director, the Clay County Bar Association, President of the Orange Park Kiwanis Club and a member of Orange Park, Putnam, and Jacksonville Bar Associations. Before private practice, John served as an Assistant State Attorney from 1981 to 1983. About Douglas Daze
Douglas Daze was born in Orange Park and graduated from Episcopal High School, The University of Georgia cum laude and with honors from Florida State University College of Law.
While in law school he worked for the Industrial Relations Commission assisting judges with workers compensation appeals. He began his practice in Orlando representing insurance carriers, but since 1984 has exclusively represented injured workers in workers compensation and longshore claims.
He has twice served as president of the workers compensation section of the Duval County Bar Association. He has frequently been an author and lecturer on workers compensation matters.
He is admitted to practice before all State courts as well as the U.S. 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court.
About David Drill
David Drill is an Associate Attorney in the Firm with more than 25 years of litigation experience. He began his legal career as a prosecutor at the Broward County State’s Attorneys’ Office. Thereafter, he practiced criminal defense and personal injury law at his own firm for 5 plus years. He spent the next fifteen years of his professional legal career defending general liability claims, property claims and workers’ compensation claims. David’s practice is now devoted exclusively to representing injured workers and personal injury clients.
Throughout his career, David has been the lead attorney in excess of thirty-five jury trials, more than one-hundred non-jury civil trials and more than seventy-five workers’ compensation trials.
David is certified by the State of Florida to provide Continuing Education Seminars for employers, their risk management staff, insurance adjusters and state agencies.
David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and worked as a Florida Licensed Pharmacist for more than 10 years in various hospital, home health and retail settings. He then earned his law degree from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 1993.
